Mi Abuelita - Una Mujer Bella!

Despues de mucho meses, reunimos de mi abuelita Colombiana! Muy amable, muy linda- gracias a Dios que encontramos!

Ice cream eatin' with Uncle Andres

I like this uncle cause he lets me eat with my hands - it tastes better that way...I was so excited to surprise Andres on his birthday, showing up at his doorstep at 11:30pm when he thought I was still in NM! Daddy called from his cell phone and told Andres to come out to the front porch to see if a package had come for his birthday, and Andres opened the front door to see Shannon and Nizhoni smiling big!

Two Activists - one baby, one adult

Here I am witha fellow party-crasher at the 2009 Native Philanthropy conference. She is an incredible woman, an activist for social justice and former vice-presidential candidate named Winona LaDuke. She invited me to come sit with her, and I crawled over, chatted for a bit about Indigenous land rights and civil rights struggles, and then posed for the paparatzi (e.g. mommy and daddy)

Sleeping with Auntie Anna

I know Anna drove 2 hours just to see me, so I thought I would "honor" her by falling fast asleep.

Heels win another championship

On the night of the championship game, April 6th 2009, I was in my Tar Heel gear, ready to cheer my team on to the 5th NCAA title. I would have been on Franklin St. in Chapel Hill, partying with all of the Tar Heel crazies, but mom and dad said I had to stick with them in NM...booooo!!!

Rockin' wit KRS!

Daddy (in his "Stop the Violence" t-shirt) and KRS-ONE, before he gives a sermon on hip hop...this was the second time I had heard KRS live, the first being when I was still inside mommy, 6 months into what I refer to as the "womb months". Daddy asked KRS if he could rap for the crowd, but KRS politely suggested that he didn't want all of the people to rush for the exits!

I am gonna play some b-ball?

1,2,3,4..what was after 4? Well, here I am stretching out before I take someone to the courts.

Making new friends..

here, yes my face is blurry (who took this photo!), I was fortunate to meet Mr. Chris(in the black leather jacket) and his son Josh (in black framed glasses). This was the first time I had met Josh, and earlier in the week his dad Chris.....I know will be one of my many favorite people!

Peek-a-Boo, I see you!

Lucky, our guinea pig, was playing hide and seek with me. She thought I would never find her, but I did.

In the dunes

We were blowing in the wind, notice how daddy is holding our doggie Hozhoon, and mommy holding me, keeping us from blowing away. We were on the rollings sand dunes of White Sands, NM. For a moment, I thought we were in snow.

Beep, beep...

Move it folks, gotta sell them hot dogs!
